about haley

For over twenty years I have been exploring one enduring question: what does it truly mean to be human?

That question has led me through the worlds of yoga, counselling, Jungian psychology, Tantra, nervous system science, and embodied practice. Rather than seeing these as separate disciplines, I have come to understand them as different languages describing the same human experience.

EXPERIENCE & TRAINING

I bring over two decades of experience in yoga and embodiment, including thirteen years of teaching and mentoring yoga teachers. I am a Senior Yoga Teacher with more than 1,200 hours of training across Vinyasa Flow, Yin Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, non-dual Tantra, Yoni Shakti Well Woman Yoga Therapy, and embodiment practices.

Alongside this, I am completing an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling and have undertaken extensive study in Jungian psychology, dream analysis and symbolic work. My work is deeply informed by depth psychology, symbolism, dreams, myth and the imaginal, alongside existential philosophy, attachment theory, somatic psychology, Polyvagal Theory, an understanding of the nervous system, and neurodiversity-affirming perspectives. I’m also a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

In addition, I’m a trained Embodiment Coach, Thai Yoga Massage practitioner, and Reiki Master Teacher. Along my spiritual path I have been initiated into Transcendental Meditation and two non-dual Shaiva-Shakta Tantric lineages, and have a daily meditation practice.

THE AWAKENING BODY

These experiences have gradually woven themselves into what I now call The Awakening Body: an embodied ecology for understanding human experience. It is the living framework through which I explore the dynamic relationship between body, psyche, and the imaginal, and the way our lives become organised into patterns that shape how we think, feel, relate, and participate in the world.

Whether I am counselling, teaching, writing, or creating educational content, my intention is the same: to offer a compassionate and intellectually rigorous space where people can make sense of their experience, reconnect with themselves, and participate more fully in their own lives.

Everything I offer is trauma-informed and grounded in deep respect for the complexity, mystery, and wisdom of being human.

THE HUMAN BEHIND THE WORK

Qualifications tell you what I've studied, but they don’t tell you who I am. At heart, I'm endlessly fascinated by people and why we behave in the ways that we do. Why do we repeat patterns we desperately want to change? Why can two people experience the same event yet carry it so differently? How does the body remember what the mind has forgotten? Those questions have shaped far more of my life than any qualification ever could.

I'm curious about everything! I love ideas as much as I love nature so I'm equally at home discussing Jung, Tantra, mythology, neuroscience, or sitting around a fire wondering why human beings dream. I can disappear down a rabbit hole researching a specific subject for hours, then emerge convinced I've only scratched the surface.

I'm also a walking, talking paradox! Part of me wants to spend an evening in deep conversation about consciousness and the meaning of life. Another part wants to throw a paddleboard on the car, chase the sunset, and see where the road leads. Sometimes I dream of retreating to a cabin in the woods with nothing but books and silence. Other times I want to gather people together and explore what it means to be fully alive. I've long stopped trying to resolve those contradictions because they're all part of who I am.

When I'm not counselling, teaching, writing, or creating for The Awakening Body, you'll usually find me wandering along the beach with my dog Luna, remembering that some of life's best insights arrive when we stop trying so hard to find them.

Thank you for being here.
